25th Southampton (Northam) Sea Scouts
Summer Camp
11-17th August 2003
at
Longridge Scout Boating Centre

We went kayaking, sailing, dragon boating, rafting, hiking, climbing and sight seeing. And when we got too hotmost afternoonswe all went for a swim in the Thames. Several of the Scouts achieved RYA sailing awards, and all earned their Dragon Boating activity badge. In the “Ready Steady Cook” competition, one Patrol cooked a pie in a camp oven, while the other created and cooked a well-received pizza over the wood fire (watch out for the black bits though). Both Patrols cooked and served a three course meal, which they bought themselves at Asda, earning points for the Inter-Patrol Competition which ran all week.

   We sailed,

we rafted,

   we kayaked, and

we learnt to paddle a Dragon Boat,

   which we managed to capsize.

The weather was beautiful,

but eventually we had to come home.
